20 Questions for 2020

If you’re walking into 2020 with expectations of success, happiness and creativity, I’ve got 20 questions for you.

I have a bit of a ritual. On New Year’s Eve, I like to plot out the year ahead, set my goals and intentions, and visualise it with a vision board. I’ve discovered that defining your focus for the year is a good way to stay on track and not get distracted. Getting creative about your plans for a new year means you feel more connected and in alignment with your aspirations.

I mean, it is different for everyone. You could be aiming to write a book or launch an event, go abroad for the first time or even get married. For 2019, my main goals were to move house, buy a car and go on holiday. For 2018, I wanted to graduate from University with a good grade. Your goals will change depending on your circumstances and what matters most to you right now.

I have experienced the power of the written word, through writing down my goals and intentions, to listing desired outcomes and to journaling about the things I want the most.

I’m inviting you to do the same, to write down your goals for 2020 to ensure you have the best year yet.

Here are 20 questions to get you started:

  1. What is your most memorable moment of 2019?
  2. How can you recreate it in 2020?
  3. What did 2019 teach you?
  4. Which cycle do you want to break?
  5. What do you need to feel prepared for 2020?
  6. What are you taking with you?
  7. Who changed in 2019?
  8. Who surprised you in 2019 and why?
  9. What could you try again?
  10. What could you do differently?
  11. Where do you see yourself in 12 months time?
  12. What’s the one thing you would like to achieve in 2020?
  13. What do you want to do less of?
  14. What do you want to do more of?
  15. Which song best represents 2019 and why?
  16. What are your areas for development in 2020?
  17. What’s your mantra for 2020?
  18. Who do you want to be in the next ten years?
  19. What will your life be like in five years?
  20. Which distractions do you need to ditch to stay focused?

Work through each of them, maybe choose two or three. Whatever you do, just pick up a pen, open your journal and be honest with yourself.

The rest is up to the Universe.
